Maya van der Meer - Web Design

Maya van der Meer has been studying art and design from a very early age. Pre-verbally she studied the works of Leonardo Da Vincii, Goya, and Rembrandt very closely, sometimes ripping the pages of paintings she liked the best. This was her early education in seeing. When she was old enough to produce her own work she studied under the tutelage of her mother, the Polish artist Marta Kremer. By age 9 she made her first intaglio print and had learned to draw from still lifes arranged on the kitchen table. But she rarely produced art for art’s sake. She always wanted to promote ideas and people for their benefit. She started winning numerous contests though school for poster art, portrait photography, and ad contests for a local business. After a circuitous route through Literature, Dance, Psychology, and Religious Studies she found her way back to visual media and a true passion for graphic design, video production, and the world of the web and social media. She is currently the lead web designer at Bard College. She also maintains Totally Good Media.
